But constant discomfort isn’t something you have to live with.
Turning in bed shouldn’t be a struggle.
Standing up shouldn’t take effort.
And lifting your baby shouldn’t hurt.
You don’t have to just live with pain and discomfort.
Whether you’re pregnant or navigating life after baby,
when your body feels tight, sore, or out of sync— that’s a sign it needs support.
And that’s where we come in.
At MERN, our whole team works with the same shared approach—
the MERN Maternal Method.
Built from years of working closely with women through pregnancy and postpartum.
Not generic care.
Not one-size-fits-all.
But care that is:
So no matter who you see, you’re supported by a team that understands.
Gentle, hands-on care designed to support your body as it changes.
We help you:
No cookie-cutter care. Just support that fits you.
MERN Maternal Care has been shaped through years of working closely with women during pregnancy and postpartum.
For Dr Laura Nuttall (Chiropractor), that journey began over 15 years ago,
in one of the first clinics she worked in, a chiropractic pregnancy and postpartum research clinic.
It was there she saw the difference the right support can make.
Women moved more easily.
Felt more comfortable.
And coped better with the physical demands of this stage of life.
That experience stayed.
And over time, through continued hands-on work with pregnant and postnatal women, it developed into what we now use across the whole team—
the MERN Maternal Method.
A shared approach focused on how your body is changing,
and what it needs at each stage.
When something doesn’t feel right, you want more than general advice, you want the right approach.
This isn’t physiotherapy.
It’s not massage.
And it’s not generic, one-size-fits-all care.
It’s a specific way of working that’s helped so many women feel more comfortable in their bodies, through pregnancy and after baby arrives.
Today, women travel from across the area to experience the MERN Maternal Method,
because they want care that feels different, and makes a real difference.
So when you come to MERN, you’re supported by a team that understands, and knows how to help.

Because something doesn’t feel right.
Because they’ve been told it’s “normal”—but it doesn’t feel that way.
Because they want to:
And feel confident they’re in the right place.

But it doesn’t feel normal.
And it builds over time.
Your body is adapting quickly:
This places extra pressure on your spine and pelvis, which is often where discomfort begins.
We focus on helping your body cope with those changes.
So day-to-day life feels that bit easier.
Your body has been through a lot.
Pregnancy, labour, and birth place real demands on your body, physically, hormonally, and mechanically. And recovery doesn’t happen overnight.
When your body feels tight, sore, or out of sync, that’s your body asking for support.
The feeding.
The lifting.
The carrying.
Day after day.
And suddenly, your body starts to feel it.
• Tight neck and shoulders
• Ongoing back discomfort
• Reduced movement and ease
• Tingling, numbness, or weakness
Common? Yes.
Something you should just live with? No.
At MERN, care is designed around how you’re actually living day to day.
We help you:
• Ease tension and discomfort
• Restore movement and comfort
• Support your body as it regains strength
• Feel more confident lifting and carrying your baby
Because this stage is often overlooked.
You’re expected to just get on with it, even when your body doesn’t feel right.
At MERN, we do things differently.
• No one-size-fits-all care
• We take time to understand what your body has been through
• Support tailored to how you’re moving, feeding, lifting, and living
This is where the MERN Maternal Method makes the difference.

Yes.
Care is adapted for pregnancy:
We don’t turn breech babies.
If there’s tension through your pelvis, we can help reduce that, giving your baby more room to move naturally.
You can come in at any stage of pregnancy—first, second, or third trimester.
Some women come in early to stay comfortable as their body changes.
Others come when something starts to feel tight, sore, or not quite right.
There’s no perfect time.
If something doesn’t feel right, it’s worth getting checked.
By the end of my pregnancy I could barely turn over in bed. After a few sessions, everything felt easier.
— Emma
After having my baby my back and shoulders were constantly sore. Within weeks, I could move more freely again.
— Sophie
Nothing felt rushed, everything was explained clearly, and I finally understood what was going on with my body.
— Rachel
